Specialist & Outpatient Services

These are medical services received without being admitted to a hospital.

Typically includes:

 

  • Consultations with specialist doctors (e.g., cardiologists, dermatologists, gynecologists)
  • Follow-up appointments
  • Outpatient treatments and procedures
  • Medical advice and assessments

Hospitalization is covered when admission is medically necessary.

Typically includes:

 

  • Bed space in a semi-private hospital ward
  • Basic nursing care during admission
  • Monitoring and routine inpatient services

The plan contributes toward the cost of eligible surgical procedures.

Typically includes:

  • Surgeon’s fees
  • Operating theatre charges
  • Anesthesia-related costs
  • Hospital charges related to surgery

 

Limit: Coverage is capped at ₦300,000 per eligible surgery or according to the policy terms.

Pregnancy and childbirth-related care are covered up to the stated limit.

Typically includes:

  • Antenatal (prenatal) consultations
  • Routine maternity monitoring
  • Delivery costs (depending on policy terms)
  • Postnatal care

 

Limit: Coverage is capped at ₦200,000.

Medical investigations and emergency treatment are covered.

Typically includes:

 

  • Laboratory tests
  • Blood tests
  • X-rays
  • Ultrasounds
  • Other diagnostic procedures
  • Emergency stabilization and treatment for urgent medical conditions
Surgery Costs Above ₦300,000

Any amount exceeding the surgery limit may need to be paid by the patient.

Expenses beyond the maternity cap may not be covered.

  • Non-medically necessary treatments

  • Braces
  • Dental implants

  • Prescription glasses
  • Contact lenses
  • Routine eye examinations

Examples:

  • Certain expensive medications

Care received outside the country is usually not covered unless specifically stated.
